Overall a very handsome book, tightly bound and clean with sole excedption of neatly inked name of previous owner at top of patterned free front endpaper. Corners and spine ends very lightly bumped. There is a description of Roosevelt's trip and its purposes and scope, a sample of T.R.'s handwritten text, background of the illustrations and several pages taken from the book itself An unusual item, it is in Near Fine condition with only some browning to the first page caused by the leather spine affixed to the front pastedown. There are no marks or inscription and the contents are tight and clean. Gilt lettering on spine is bright.
