Beige and olive patterned cloth boards with bright gilt lettering on cover and spine and with impression of TR atnding over a lion within gild ruled borders on cover, and small gilt impression of giraffe on lower spine. Overall a very handsome book, tightly bound and clean with sole excedption of neatly inked name of previous owner at top of patterned free front endpaper. Corners and spine ends very lightly bumped. This is a scarce book for Roosevelt collectors. Very Good Plus to Near Fine.  ID#: 3175

Inside on the firont pastedown has been affixed the complete spine of that edition and also the spine of the deluxe leather edition. There is a description of Roosevelt's trip and its purposes and scope, a sample of T.R.'s handwritten text, background of the illustrations and several pages taken from the book itself An unusual item, it is in Near Fine condition with only some browning to the first page caused by the leather spine affixed to the front pastedown. An interesting item for the Roosevelt collector. Scarce.  ID#: 3177

There are no marks or inscription and the contents are tight and clean. Gilt lettering on spine is bright.
